The operators will be invited to submit statutory claims for compensation for the loss of their tenancies and damage to business caused by the resumption. At the same time they will be offered advances of compensation at rates between $38 and $44 per square foot, prior to the settlement of statutory claims. As an alternative to cash payments, eligible workshop operators will be offered flatted factory units in Housing Authority estates, if suitable accommodation is available.
