REVISED RATES

Ex-gratia disturbance allowance of :

(i) 60% per sq.ft.

where occupation pre-dated Dec. 1941; or

(ii) 40¢ per sq.ft.

where occupation post-dated Dec. 1941 and the land had been cultivated continuously for at least 2 years from the date of identification.

A special ex-gratia allowance of $500 per cultivator is granted in the urban areas but not in the New Territories where the cultivated area

exceeds 3,000 sq.ft.

Revised Rates

All cultivators whether owners, tenants or squatters to receive an ex-gratia dis- turbance allowance of $1 per sq.ft. where the land has been in continuous cultivat- ion for 1 year or more.

To diminish hardship and clearance difficul- ties, the previous rates being inadequate to enable either re- establishment or change of livelihood.
