Since 1962, the Registration of Persons Office has registered a total of 317,697 persons who claimed to have entered Hong Kong illegally from various sources, primarily from China. The cumulative total of such registrations since January 1968

is 126,534.

15.

The attached appendices B - H give details of arrests of illegal immigrants from China and Macao during July. (N.B. Appendices E arrests of illegal immigrants from China (sea crossers), F (arrests of illegal immigrants from Macao) and G (illegal immigration - vessels seized) are NIL returns this month, and have been omitted to save paper.)
