Central District Development Programme

Redevelopment of Victoria Barracks

(CR 1/3371/76)

PURPOSE

To provide a phased programme for major development projects in the Central District Outline Zoning Plan Area and monitor their implementation. All major projects to be completed by 1985.

(a) To obtain approval to the

layout proposals for future development.

PROGRESS MADE & PRESENT POSITION

on 18.1.77 to consider the temporary facilities which must be provided to enable redevelopment of the terminal to take place.

(a) The proposal to reprovision the

Central and Westerm Markets on the Central Reclamation Stage V is being referred to the Markets and Abattoir Select Committee and Works Planning Select Committee of Urban Council in February.

(b) L.D.P.C. has agreed on the future

use of the existing Central Market site.

(c) The Town Planning Office is refining

the land use proposals for Victoria Barracks.

(a) Recommendations on future use of

Flagstaff House submitted to ExCo.
