Reviews

Purpose

To help departments to improve their organisation and systems, and generally to raise management

standards.

Progress Made & Present Position

The Chief Secretary's Committee has endorsed proposals for Management Reviews in departments, and a pilot review is being conducted in the Social Welfare Department (see Item 7 below). The aims and methods proposed for these reviews have been notified to Heads of Departments and their comments . invited.

Next Quarter Target

To identify those departments in greatest need of a management review. The Branch's capacity for such reviews is strictly limited.
