PROPOSALS MADE & PRESENT POSITION
Hong Kong United Dockyards Ltd., Island Navigation Corp. Ltd. Yiu Lian Machinery have all accepted. Government's offers of basic terms for the grant of sites. Gazetting of notifications under the Foreshore and Sea Bed Ordinance in respect of sites for the proposed dockyards and floating docks has been published. It is expected that the companies will be given formal possession of the sites in May "at their own risk", pending the completion of grant formalities. Priority status has also been awarded to Island Navigation Corp. Ltd. by the Industrial Land Sub-Committee to enable the Corp. to start the construction of a small power plant.
