The PPP Government has encouraged trade union formation and the growth of the union movement. Unions are much better off than under previous regimes. But any troublesome industrial action is severely dealt with.
Emigration of foreign-exchange earning workers to, eg The Gulf, is most welcome to the government, and of course no obstacles are placed on emigration of dependants to the UK. But certain skilled categories, eg doctors, as well as government employees require a no- objection certificate from the government and certain political opponents may find it virtually impossible to get out.
