After setting off $31,480, being the proceeds of your £4,000 received through the British Trade Commission, the balance of $68,338 is, fortunately, within the upper limit of $70,000 for our contribution mentioned to you by HE over the telephone on 4 March 1977.

I trust this revised estimate of $99,818 is accept-
able to you.
5.
You will also wish to know that we have only paid Turner and Fosh 8 extra days' subsistence in respect of the claims for 18 and 21 days respectively. We will pay the ba- lance on receipt of your agreement to the revised estimate. Furthermore, in recognition of a point made earlier by Turner that he alone is accountable for this Study, we have also paid Dr. Fosh the second half of her honorarium. Of course, half of Prof. Turner's honorarium will be retained by us until you have received his final report. No honorarium has been paid to Prof. Yerbury.
