Thank you for your letter of 28 January enclosing copies of correspondence between yourself and Economic Services Branch of the Hong Kong Government over future, energy prices and generating equipment. I was glad to see Bracewell's caution about the "use of his estimates". I know GEC would be particularly concerned about material being supplied which might prejudice their tactical position. I am very conscious of the precarious situation in the generating plant industry. Sir Peter Carey met all concerned on his recent visit to Hong Kong and impressed on the Governor the importance of the business going our way.
