My dear Prime Minister,
On my return to Hong Kong, my first letter
must be to thank you for your kindness and courtesy in seeing us on Thursday, 31st March, 1977.
I believe the proposal we discussed holds considerable promise for U. K. manufacturers and is of great interest to China and Hong Kong in particular.
We were very encouraged by the interest and
support which you indicated to us.
The attached article from the Ming Pao Daily News, a leading Hong Kong Chinese newspaper, seems to substantiate our thinking.
May I take this opportunity to wish you every success in the very difficult tasks you have before you.
Sincerely yours,
