Thank you for your letter of 16 June enclosing

a report on the CMA delegation visit.

Nothing very remarkable, but then with that delegation I did not really expect there would be. imagine paragraph 8 would have them rolling in the aisles in Whitehall if it got around.

I wonder if I can ask you if you have a similar record of the recent meeting the textile delegation had with you and Donald Murray? That would be of interest.

I have had rather bitty verbal reports from some of the participants, but nothing all of a piece.

I gather they were pleased with their reception

in the FCO; pleasantly surprised by the apparent attentiveness of Mr. Meacher; and a bit chilled by Philip Ridley. Is there any way you could let us have a feedback on DOT/DOI reactions to them?
