Summary of the discussions of the Article 113 Committee at its meeting on 30 June 1977

I. Timetable envisaged by the Commission for negotiation of

the renewal of the Multifibre Arrangement and of the bilateral agreements to be concluded under it

The Commission representative gave the following

information:

the month of July would be devoted to the Geneva negotiations for the renewal of the Arrangement and to making contact with several supplier countries to explain the policy which the Community intended to follow in its bilateral negotiations;

in the following weeks, the Commission departments would contact all the Member States' delegations, to inform them of the progress made in the informal contacts with supplier countries, and to achieve as wide as possible a preliminary internal consensus on the points which should appear in the proposals for directives concerning the bilateral negotiations;
