The question of whether this was the right time to pay the rewards was raised and it was pointed out that the terms of the reward offer had been fulfilled and the Attorney General stressed
the fact that the case was over as far as the law was concerned.
As far as the appeal to the Privy Council was concerned, it was advised that no permission had been given for an appeal and it may not be approved until October.

agreed in principle to the payment of rewards to the six persons named in the amounts stated;
instructed the Financial Secretary to prepare a supplementary estimate for approval and submission to Caucus;
recommended that if Caucus concurred then the rewards be paid out of the Contingency Fund with no publicity given to the names of, the six recip- ients.
