AID TO THE PACIFIC DEPENDENT TERRITORIES
Our aid to the Pacific Dependent Territories is substantial and increasing, reflecting both our direct responsibility for the Islands, the need to help the Gilberts and Tuvalu diversify their economy and the New Hebrides and the Solomons to achieve viability. Our aid has increased from about £8 million in 1972/3
to an estimate of over £20 m in the current financial year.
