Judicial and Legal Staffing of the Dependent
Territories in the 1980's
Would you kindly refer to your letter on the above subject dated 8th August 1977 and addressed to His Excellency the Governor.
2. The assumptions made in paragraph 5(a) and (b) of your letter are correct in so far as they relate to the Falkland Islands.
3. It is expected that there would be no change in the number of non-resident senior judicial appointments needing to be filled during the 1980's i.e. one non-resident Judge of the Supreme Court; and three non-resident Judges of the Appeal Court.
4. None of these appointments is likely to be filled from local
sources.
