1. When Seychelles becomes independent on 29 June 1976 responsibility for Seychelles and for the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) will be transferred from Hong Kong and Indian Ocean

Department to East African Department. Thereafter, Hong Kong and Indian Ocean Department will be renamed Hong Kong Department (HKD).
