DEPARTMENTAL MACHINERY OFFICER

The report by Mr Morgan of the Inspectorate on HKIOD (as it then was) contained a recommendation (Part II, no 14) that

the Head of Department should formally delegate his responsibility for office machinery in use in the department to the departmental machinery officer.

2. Mr Milton tells me that both prior/and since Mr Morgan's inspection you have been carrying out the duties of departmental machinery officer and that you see no difficulty about being formally charged with this task. In order to comply with the Inspector's recommendation, I hereby formally delegate you HKD's departmental machinery officer in accordance with DSP VĨ 20, Section 3.2 (a). Mr Milton will, in accordance with recommendation No 19 in Part II of Mr Morgan's report, remind all staff in the department of the need to keep you informed about the whereabouts of office machinery. Would you please keep Mr Milton informed. about implementation of the Inspector's recommendations.
