H.M. GOVERNMENT DONATION TO SUPPORT OF

VIETNAMESE REFUGEES

CERTIFICATE OF THE DIRECTOR OF AUDIT

H.M. Government donation of £70,000.00, representing an

amount of HK$819,000.00 at the relevant ruling rate of exchange, was received and brought to account in the books of the Hong Kong Government on 1st September, 1975.

Expenditure incurred between 4th May, 1975 and 30th September, 1975, by the Hong Kong Government on the support of Vietnamese refugees, charged to Head 81 Social Welfare Department, Subhead 101 (003) Relief : Emergency, being one of the votes against which such expenditure has been incurred, amounted to HK$1,148,213.25.

On the basis that the donation by H.M. Government may be regarded as meeting the first HK$819,000.00 of that expenditure, I certify that the donation has been fully applied for the purpose intended.
