UK AND HONG KONG: COMPARISON OF ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE}

1.

Further to Derek Milton's Note of 12 November

and to our conversation this morning, Sir Anthony Royle has put down a further Written Question, asking for details of unemployment in the UK and Hong Kong for the last three years, for the annual rate of performance in the UK and Hong Kong for the last three years, and for the percentage of GNP or gross government expenditure, including nationalised industries, compared with the private sector in the UK and Hong Kong.

We have asked Hong Kong for information relating to Hong Kong and I should be grateful if you would produce

the relevant figures for the UK by close of play today, 15 November.
