Purpose

To increase the number of statutory holidays from six to ten.

To provide all employees with one rest day in every seven days thereby increasing the total number of rest days per annum from forty-eight to fifty-two.

To introduce one week's paid annual leave for all employees covered by the Employment Ordinance.

II. OVERTIME

Factories & Industrial Undertakings (Amend- ment) Regulations 1976

To abolish overtime for young persons in four annual stages.

III. SICKNESS BENEFIT

Employment (Amend- ment) Bill

(i) To increase the maximum number of sickness days which can be accumulated from twenty-four to thirty-six days

(ii) To increase sickness

allowance from half day's wages to two-thirds of a day's wages
