one shot from outside a meat shop at the yellow car and one or two shots were fired in return breaking the shopwindow. He then went back along Pei Ho Street and on the way found a plastic bag containing about $118,000. As a result of the shooting in Pei Ho Street, 3 bystanders were injured.

14. In the early hours of 15 August the Police raided a number of premises and Nos. 1 - 7 (among others) were arrested. Nos. 1, 2 and 3 were arrested in a hut in Chai Wan, where the Police recovered about $119,000. At the place where No. 4 was arrested, about $33,000 was found. At the place where No. 5 was arrested, some $29,000 was found. was arrested, about $31,000 was found. DEFENCES.

No. 1. He pleaded guilty to the charge of robbing the Bank. He denied that he fired a revolver in Pei Ho Street but admitted that he was there. He also admitted firing shots in the air in Tonkin Street and one shot from the third getaway car in Tai Po Road.

NO. 2. His defence was an alibi.

No. 3. He pleaded guilty to the robbery at the Bank and in evidence said that he fired the shots in Pei Ho Street to "frighten the police officers who were chasing him and his brother" (No. 1). The evidence of the police officers. was that No. 1 fired the shots.

No. 4. His defence was an alibi, notwithstanding that he was identified as being in Tonkin Street at the time of the collision. His palm-prints were found in the Bank and stolen money was found where he was arrested.
