(11) Later he resumed working in a former Russian

Restaurant as a cook for $800 per month with food and lodging. About 8 months later, he left due to illness.

(12) He later returned to work as an usher in the New

York Theatre for $300 per month.

(13) Later he changed back to work as cook for James Bond

Restaurant in Mongkok at $750 per month with food and lodging. This lasted for half a year.

(14) He then changed to be a second cook at Silver Carriage

Restaurant in Tokwawan, Kowloon in 1970 and had $500 a month. During this period he lived at the home of his friend, Mr. Bernard Ho in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. This job was far from his abode, so he left after 3 months.

(15) He became captain of ushers in New York Theatre for

about one month. Monthly wages at $700. Before long he was dismissed and was out of job for 2 months.

(16) Cook at Casan Club at Queen's Road, Central, Hong Kong,

monthly income at $340. At that time, he lived at H. Block, Kam Uk Building, 4/F, aharing a cubicle with his distant nephew Mr. KWAN Wai On. He went away two months after he was involved in the present offence.

(17) One year before he committed the present offence, he

worked casually at various restaurants earning about $40 to $45 as daily wage.

F. ASSOCIATES

Most of his asscciates were his fellow workers in the field of restaurant work and theatre work. He did not think he would be influenced by his associates to do wrong as he believed himself to be a person of strong character. He went to seek 'pleasure with his associates during leisure but claimed he never

participated in any unlawful activities.

G. PERSONS INTERVIEW

1. Mr. KWAN Jun Yoong (II.K. I.C. No. C 153013), aged 63 (Frisoner's

father) of No. 2 & No. 3 Nim Yuen Village, Tung Chung, Lantao Island.

The Prisoner was described to be a filial son who showed concern for the health of his father as well as the financial con- dition of the family. He made contribution to the family from time to time though irregularly when he earned wages. The stone houses were repaired twice and the charges of repair were paid by him. He also bought a television set, an electric fan and other consumable goods for his family. He was generally concerned for the welfare of his parents at home.
