Mr James Johnson (Kingston upon Hull West): To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, how many Hong Kong police officers, each by ranks, inspector NCO and constable, have been dealt with under Regulation 31A of the Police Force Ordinance variously for (a) main- taining a standard of living not commensurate with their official emoluments and (b) controlling unexplained pecuniar resources in excess of their official emoluments, for each of the years after and including 1961 when this regulation was introduced.
There is no record of any police officer having been dealt with under Section 36(1) of the Police Force Ordinance to which I assume my honourable Friend is referring.
