This Circular supersedes Establishment Circular No. 26/71 of 10th May 1971, which is hereby cancelled. This circular will normally be re-issued annually to remind officers of the Ordinance and Regulations. In addition, a specific reminder of the relevance of these rules to the acceptance of gifts at Christmas and the Lunar New Year will normally be issued in December/January each year. Heads of Departments are requested to ensure that all newly appointed officers are given a copy of this circular when they take up their appointments, and that a note that this has been done is made on the officer's personal file.
