Thank you for your letter of 10 February. I would not want to suggest that you should make a special visit to London to meet me. I simply had in mind that if you were going to be here anyway, it might be valuable and would certainly be interesting

for me if we could meet.

Perhaps the best solution would be to leave the matter open, and then, if at any time you are going to be here, either I or my successor if I have left the Department, would of course be very glad to see you. If, however, you have already made arrangements to come to London around the end of the month, the best day for me would be Tuesday 4 March. I will keep this date open in case it suits you, but will not expect a meeting unless I hear from you again. If you would like to contact me by telephone, my number is 01-930-8440 ext. 615.
