Further to AUS(GS) 131/75 of 15 October 75, I attach a revised brief D: Costs of the Proposed Garrison. The brief is self- explanatory, but it should be noted that in order to get the revised cosving together in time I have had to apply a guillotine and one or two loose ends remain. In particular I have not been able to quote - one specific figure for a frigate refit (see para i of the brief) and

I have also had to exclude the cost of replacement patrol craft. However, the Hong Kong Covernment should be left in no doubt that expenditure on any new vessels would be shared on the same basis Es the remainder of the garrison corts.

A more detailed breakdown of costs is circulatod for the informa- tion of copy addressees. A copy of this is being sent to HQBF Hong Kong for onward transmission to Hong Kong Government officials.
