6. Should the Hong Kong Government press for either the 3 patrol craft or the artillery battery to be included in the garrison they could be provided, but the Hong Kong Government should bear the full cost.
RECOMMENDATION
21. We recommend that if the Chiefs of Staff agree our conclusions, they should inform the Secretary of State and seek his agreement to the use of the recommended force level in the production of an interdepartmental brief for use in the forthcoming negotiations on a Hong Kong Defence Agreement.
