I enclose 6 copies of the record of our meetings in the Ministry of Defence on 17 and 18 July. I have kept the whole thing comparatively short and hope there is nothing tendentious in it. If there is anything of real substance which you think we have got wrong, please let me know and we will issue an amendment but I trust this will not be necessary.
2. I gave Barry Wiggham yesterday 5 copies of the revised
and retyped Memorandum of Understanding which I believe incorporated all the points we agreed on 18 July.
3. I have written separately to Wilf Farrer, our Command Secretary in Hong Kong warning him to expect an approach in due course
on the breakdown of the expenditure by inflator categories to show how it divided between HK dollars and sterling.
4. I trust you will have had a good leave by the time you come to read this.
