Reference B. But I fear DS1 (Jones) who has other pressing commituents
cannot readily be made available so
I would hope the DS1 task
could be accomplished if Jones left on 9 March to start work inmediately
if required and if carlier costing requirements can be met by the
costing of options now received in your Reference C and by exchange of
signals. We could undertake to deal overnight with queries until 7
March.

FCO representative will be Jackson, Head of Defence Department.
His travel arrangements are not yet final but he is likely to travel
at about same time as Jones.

We are working on the 5 options set out in your Reference C
so that AD of DP(C) will have authoritative view on their costings.
You will appreciate that at this stage he can convey no more than
initial Service Department reactions on the military aspects of the
options.
