Benefit Rate or Formula
According to means, up to $35.00 for widow with two children under 16 or 18 if a student, and up to $21.00 for other widows (if raised child and married 15 years, widowed after 50 and married 5 years, or age 50 and widowed after age 40 with 10 years married). Orphans pensions up to $10.00 per week for full orphan.
Grant of the total of 12 highest months' earnings during last 36 months, or if greater the average monthly salary used to calculate old-age pension multiplied by 12 and divided by the over-all ratio of contributions from entry into insurance, plus five-twelfths of 1% of the resulting amount for each monthly contribution in excess of 120. In addition, up to 5 of the youngest legitimate children of the deceased are each entitled to 20% of the pension the insured would have received if totally disabled (see Parts A and B). /14
For 2 years contributions, a lump sum of 27 months' average earnings; for 1-2 years, 17 months' earnings; less than 1 year 10 months' earnings. Funeral grant of 3 months' earnings.
For 1 survivor 45% of earnings up to 40 roubles a month (full orphans 65%) plus 10% of the remainder, with minimum and maximum of 21 and 40 roubles (full orphans 45). The percentages, and the minimum and maximum rates increase according to the number of survivors. Increment of 10% or 15% for 10 or 15 years work for last employer. Higher rates for difficult or dangerous work.
9 dong per month for 1 survivor, 16 for 2, 21 for 3, and 24 for 4 or more dependant survivors. Increment of 10% of pension if deceased had years of continuous work. Standard lump sum funeral grant.
