Lieutenant Commander Bob Wilkins was born December 1936, educated at Christ's Hospital and entered BRNC Dartmouth as a Naval Cadet Seaman specialisation in September 1954. He qualified as an Anti-Submarine Helicopter pilot in ' 1960 and attended RAF Staff College, in 1971.
He has served in most types of RN ships culminating as second in command of 820 Naval Air Squadron attached to HS Blake from 1969 - 1970. He has had an exchange tour with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1964 1967. His most recent staff appointment was in a Naval Air/Ship equipment Division of MOD Navy and has now been in HGBF Hong Kong since November 1973. He is married, his wife's name is Rhian, they have four children, three boys and one girl. Two of the boys are at boarding school in the UK. is a regular cricket player and a keen dinghy sailor.
