GLC is sharing with Government the cost of a National Theatre and the Museum of London now under construc-
tion. Additionally, GLC contributes about £4.60 for the support of London orchestras, the English National Opera and the London Festival Ballet, etc. Smaller grants are given to "Minority Arts" which include poetry, photography, puppetry, etc.

Fuller details are given in the "Report of the Arts & Recreation Committee, Nov. 1974".
Parks & Entertainments Section (Miss C. Holmes)

A comprehensive programme of entertainment is provided (see "GLC Parks - Looking for Leisure, 1975"), ranging from concerts by major orchestras to popular "Pop" concerts, open-air theatre and an Annual Horse Show.
Sports and amenities are provided through the National Sports Centre of 36 acres within a 200-acre park.

It is recommended that the Urban Council give consi- deration to assuming censorship powers similar to the GLC for Films and Publications, such as Children's Comics.
