at children's homes), county and voluntary, have a teaching staff, (including the

full-time equivalent of part-time and short-term supply teachers) of 22, 655 for

nursery schools and some in nursery classes attached to primary schools. Attendance

is voluntary and many schools and classes provide part-time education for different

groups attending in the morning and afternoon.

Primary Education

Primary and secondary education is provided in 735 county schools,

and in 350 voluntary schools most of which are denominational. The Inner London

external repair and improvement of the buildings.

Secondary Education

In Secondary schools a full range of courses is available to all pupils.

Most schools, including all comprehensive, grammar and other large schools, offer

seven-year courses, and this applies to the Inner London Education Authority boarding
