I believe I mentioned to you when you were in Hong Kong that the Urban Council would probably send a group of Councillors to study the work of the Greater London Council in April this year. This has just been agreed (the actual study period being from Monday 21st to Friday 25th April), and I now attach a copy of my letter to Mr. J.A. Cunnington, Deputy Ceremonial Officer of the Greater London Council, for your information.
Elsie Elliott, Peter P.F. Chan, John MacKenzie, Cecilia Yeung and myself have been selected for this visit, and I would now be most grateful if I could call on your good offices to make the following arrangements for us
(a) Accommodation. Member

I give below the requirements of each
Elsie Elliott: from the night of Sunday, 20th to (and including) night of Sunday, 27th April; Royal Westminster Hotel single room with attached facilities.
-
Mr. & Mrs. Peter P.F. Chan: from the night of Friday, 18th to (and including) night of Sunday, 27th April; Savoy Hotel double room with attached facilities. I believe the Savoy has some cheaper rooms at the back of the hotel.
Myself: from the night of Sunday, 20th to (and including) night of Sunday, 27th April; single room with attached facilities; hotel immaterial, but I may as well stay at the Royal Westminster on the recommendation of Elsie.
John MacKenzie and Cecilia Yeung will make their own arrangements and do not, therefore, require any booking.
If it proves difficult to obtain accommodation in
any of the hotels named, could I please leave it to your office
to select other suitable hotels ?
