Mr McNally

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE LABOUR PARTY

1.

I attach a copy of a telegram to me from the Political Adviser, Hong Kong. Mr Foggon told me that there had been a Labour Party Overseas Committee meeting a week or two back, perhaps a carry-over from the abortive meeting which we discussed last year, but that the question of Hong Kong had not been raised at all. Do you know anything about such a meeting please, and particularly about an imminent pamphlet?

2.

Mr Maurice Tracy has been in touch with a number of MPs about various Hong Kong problems, particularly corruption, and the constitutional future. His ideas have often been rather ill thought out, but he is very properly concerned about the situation in Hong Kong, and clearly has the ear of a number of people in the UK.
