Dear Jim.

REVIEVED IN

REGISTRY No. 25

15th November, 1974

One of my constituents, Mr. D. J. Jenkins of 25, Meredith Road, Barnes, S. W. 13., came to see me about an incident which took place on Tuesday, 6th November, in Hong Kong. Mr. Jenkins was refused permission to land, and the details of his experiences are enclosed with this letter.

I must confess that on the face of it I am disturbed that a British citizen should be treated in this manner, particularly as he came from what appears to be an impeccable background, having spent two years in the Private Offices of Sir James Dunnett and Sir Michael Cary, Permanent Under Secretaries of State at the Ministry of Defence.

It seems to me that Mr. Jenkins has a strong case for compensation for the money that he spent on air fares, and I would be grateful if you could give me an assurance that when he visits the Colony again, action will be taken to see that he is received with courtesy and allowed, as British citizen, to visit a British Colonial Dependancy.

Yours Але
