Amend the Corporal Punishment Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corporal Punishment (Amendment) Ordinance 1974.

Amendment of section 3. (Cap. 222.)

2. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended

by inserting the following new subsection after subsection

(3) -

(Cap. 134.)

"(4) Without prejudice to subsection

(3), where any male person is convicted

by a court of any offence under section

8 or 36 of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance,

which was committed whilst such person was

in the custody of the Commissioner of

Prisons, the Court may, in addition to

or in lieu of any other punishment for

such offence, sentence the offender to

be caned.".

Amendment of Schedule.

3. The Schedule to the principal Ordinance is

amended by inserting in Part I, after item 10, the

following new item

G. F. 323

"11.

Any offence against section 4,

(Cap. 134.) 5, 6, 7, 35 or 37 of the Dangerous Drugs

Ordinance."
