On 27th July, 1973, officers of the Narcotics Bureau raided a flat in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The premises were searched and a quan- tity of cannabis was found. A man, KWOK Yun-yin (6753/7032/6343). years, and a woman, AU Kam-ping (2962/6930/1456), 21 years, found in the premises were arrested. The total quantity of drugs seized was 5.2 grammes of cannabis. Both arrested persons were jointly charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs. KWOK was convicted and bound over in the sum of HK$500.00 for a period of one year. was offered against AU.

On 23rd August, 1973, officers of the Narcotics Bureau raided a flat in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The premises were searched and in one bedroom a plastic box containing 28.8 grammes of cannabis resin was found. In a second bedroom smoking implements all bearing traces of cannabis resin were found. Four men, Indian male Bhagwan SHAMDAS, 24 years, British male Joseph David CLEMENTS, 28 years, WONG Wai-man (7806/0251/2429), 24 years, and WONG Shun-mou (7806/ 1957/6180), 23 years, found on the premises were arrested and jointly
SHAMDAS charged with two counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
No evidence was convicted on the first count and fined HK$1,000.00.
CLEMENTS was convicted was offered against him on the second count.
No evidence was offered on the second count and fined HK$2,000.00. against him on the first count. No evidence was offered against either WONG Wai-man or WONG Shun-mou.

On 25th August, 1973, acting on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau conducted an operation at the Star Ferry Con- course, Kowloon, during which a Nepalese male, Purnasing GURUNG, 23 years, was stopped and searched. 4.129 kilogrammes of cannabis resin were found in his travelling bag. GURUNG was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Traf- ficking. He was convicted and bound over in the sum of HK$500.00 for a period of two years.

On 29th August, 1973, officers of the Narcotics Bureau
The pre- raided a plastic factory in Western District, Hong Kong. mises were searched and a quantity of No. 3 heroin and cannabis was found.
A man, LAM Hoi-chun (2651/3189/6966), 42 years, and a woman, MA Shuk-tuen (7456/3219/4551), 50 years, found in the premises were arrested. The total seizure amounted to 14.7 grammes of a mixture containing 5.0 grammes of salts of esters of morphine and 156 grammes
of cannabis.
Following the arrests of LAM and MA, a second raid was carried out at MA's residence. A search of the premises located
LAM and MA two bags containing 2.508 kilogrammes of cannabis. were jointly charged with two counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. on both counts and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment, suspended for 2 years. No evidence was offered against MA.
