We, members of Amnesty-International, Malmö Sweden, write to you

on behalf of the 117 refugees, who from Hong Kong were transfered

to Saigon. Among these refugees there are at least 14 youngsters

below 15 years of age.

The British government is responsible for the administration of Hong Kong.

These 117 people are now at Con Son, where the prison-conditions are

wellknown all over the world. The political prisoners have become

cripples for the rest of their lives.

It is especially tragic, that these 117 people have become political

prisoners in South Vietnam, as the French government and the Dutch

Section of Amnesty-International had promised to take care of them,

pay their tickets for Europe etc.

The extremely terrible situation for these people must force the

British government to do it's utmost in order to help them.

Your Excellency, we appeal to you to use your influence and urge

all those who are responsible on this matter to act on behalf of the

117 former refugees.

Yours faithfully

"
