I wish to draw your attention to the case of the

117 refugees who were sent back to Saigon from Hong-Kong the 16th of June.

I am a member of Amnesty International and I feel that it is most urgent that these refugees are

treated with clemency which Saigon promised British

authorities in Hong-Kong. But the refugees are now imprisoned on Con-Son under very bad conditions. As responsible for a part in handling this case,

it must be the duty of British authoroties to investigate the case and obtain right treatment,

also to get information on the formal charge against

these refugees.

As a member of a government in a free and democratic country I am sure that you will understand the

efforts of Amnesty International to get these

refugees released and hope that you will use your

influence to help us.

Yours respectfully

Marianne Jeustian
