Dear Mr Tilton

Since I wrote to you on 6 November, I have heard from John Prendergast in Hong Kong that he wrote to you on 5 June, and I believe you replied directly to him saying that you would make contact with him in Hong Kong.

I think this might be the best course, since correspondence through my office is apt merely to hold things up. Nevertheless I was glad to hear from you again, and am sure that, if you do visit Hong Kong as you suggest, you would find it a very interesting, and even exciting, place to be at the present time.
