There is, however, one matter which does give cause for concern. While the writer was in London on a previous occasion, an application was made by to a Judge in Chambers, for bail. This application was supported by an affidavit, a copy of which is enclosed. I had completely overlooked this document before and I should have referred to it in
affidavit, though
presumably all he could have said was that, because of his anxiety to be released from jail he was prepared to include a statement in an affidavit which was false. If Counsel feels that we are under a duty to disclose the contents of this document to Godber's solicitors, you have our authority to do so.
Both

have been approached by Gunston to make a statement to him but have declined to do so but I understand some Police Officers have made statements. We will receive copies of these in due course.
