The father admitted that he failed to render adequate attention to Prisoner before, because he could only return home once a fortnight by nature of his work of a watchman. Anyway, Prisoner was considered as rather obedient and not a trouble maker when as boy. It was after he had taken up employment that he turned wayward. As Prisoner did not often return home, his outside activities were unknown to the family members, Mr. CHENG said that he had often counselled Prisoner not to querrel or fight with anybody, but was disappointed with the Prisoner's repeated offences.

She did not know clearly about Prisoner after her marriage seven years ago, as she only visited her mother occa sionally. Nevertheless, Prisoner was found obedient and helpful in housework when he was young and even when he grew up as young adult.

Madam KWAN maintained that she had little contact with the Prisoner, so that she did not know much about his general behaviour. Anyway, when she met Prisoner sometimes during her visits to his family, Prisoner was found very polite to her.
