A. GENERAL INFORMATION

The Prisoner, LIU Sim-shun was born in his native place, Tsang Shing, Kwangtung, China and was brought to Hong Kong by his mother at the age of about 2. His father came to Hong Kong sometime in 1949, while the mother and the Prisoner came in 1950.

LIU was brought up in a large and poor family. His father has been a labourer at a Government Department for about 16 years and the mother is a fish hawker. He came out to work at the age of about 14, and according to the parents he used to give regular support to the family of $200 a month.

Since coming out to work he used to stay at the place of work and to return home once a week or so. His relationship with family folks and parents was said to be normal. Both of the parents were of the opinion that the Prisoner was not a bad character before. But they were kept in the dark of his activities and associates outside.

B. FAMILY COMPOSITION

Father LIU To-sang, 47, a labourer at a government

Department since 1957, salary $660 p.m.

Mother: HO Kam-ho, 47, a fish hawker earning about

$600 p.m.

Brother LIU Kong-sing, 21, a semi-skilled electric

worker carning about $500 p.m.

LIU Yune-fat, 19, F.5 student, fees $100 p.m. LIU Wah-chiu, 17, F.4 student, fees $85 p.m. LIU Sim-kong, 10, P.4 student at Tin Wan.

Sister LIU Fung-mei, 13, F. 1 student, fees $64 p.m.

LIU Fung-lin, 12, P.6 student.
