DEFENCE REVIEW

1. Mr Larmour has asked me to let you know that Mr Thomson reported at the Under Secretaries meeting this morning that the Cabinet has now approved the ministerial statement on the Defence Review to be made on 3 December, the text of which is still under close wraps. But things will now start to move quickly, and Mr Thomson stressed the need for any of us who want to arrange for supplementary guidance to go to specific territories to get their drafts in to Defence Department (ang GIPD) for clearance as soon as possible.
