(Government receives a discount from B.C.A.C. on all air bookings but also see Section 12(iv)). The Government endeavours to provide an officer with passages of the class for which he is eligible in accordance with the regulations for the time being in force, but it must be understood that if circum- stances render it necessary for an officer to be provided with passages of a lower class no claim for compensation will be entertained.

For children receiving full time education over- seas an officer may claim either

four passages per child for up to four children up to the age of 19 in each tour of 2 years; or

two passages per child for up to four children between 19 and 21 years of age in each tour of 21 years,

subject to an overall maximum of 16 passages per tour of 2 years.

To allow for varying family circumstances, a children's passage account is opened for each officer who takes advantage of the school passage scheme and adjustments are made as school or other passages are taken.

(N.B. It should be noted that this scheme is

provisional and subject to adjustment in the light of experience)

Passage Accounts

At the commencement of a tour of resident service an officer, on the new or opted new leave terms, who takes advantare of the school passage scheme, will be credited with 4 passare units for each of his children, subject to an overall maximum of 16 passage units. As passages are taken, the passage

alance will be reduced as follows:-

(1) by 4 units for every return vacation leave

passage provided for a child who is not proceeding to or from full-time education overseas;

(3) by 2 units for every return school passage

taken by a child between 19 and under 21; for every return passage provided for the wife of an officer as an alternative to school passage, by 1 unit for each child under the age of 19 and by 2 units for each child between 19 and under 21, being education overseas at the time of the wife's travel;

by 1 unit for every return school passage taken by a child under the age of 19;
