CAVITE ME TO OUR AU MON
response yet to the request which the Ambassador made at his meeting for information on species which were regarded as rare in China nor have we yet had a reply from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, whom we have asked for details of the State Council's "Draft regulations concerning the prdettion of wildlife resources". We shall try to get some reply as soon as we can. Meanwhile, you might let us know whether you would like us to enquire specifically about the Giant Salamander.

If further representations are made to you on the subject you may wish to take the line suggested in para 3 of my letter of 8 March to Hugh Davies.
