Comments/Suggestions
(b) Temporary confusion will likely
happen at the beginning between
the old $1 coin and the new $2.50
coin since they are equal in size
and weight.
(iv) 206 (or 25¢ if charges dictate this) and
$5 coins should be added to the existing
range. The $5 coin should be no larger
than the existing dollar, distinguishability
being achieved by shape. There is no need
for coins between the range of $1 and $5.
(1) Future requirements likely to be dictated
by transport fare structures.
(ii) $1 too heavy - possible use of lighter
metal.
(iii) $2/$2.50 coin, presumably of different
shape, would reduce the number of coins
to be carried.
(iv) Increase use of vending machines will
require an increased supply of certain
denominations.
(v) No likelihood of pre-payment gas meters. (vi) For the foreseeable future Company will
continue to require 5 (up to $25 per day)
and 1 (up to $14 per day).
In the interests of improving service to
consumers, coinage should be suitable for
use in automatic change dispensing machines.

(i) 5 cent coin could be abandoned. (ii) Introduction of easily distinguishable
20 cent and $2 coins would be advantageous.
