PARLIAMENTARY QUESTION TO THE PRIME MINISTER BY MR ROBERT PARRY MP
1.
Mr Parry has tabled a Question for written answer on
Thursday 4 April to ask the Prime Minister if he has any plans
to pay an official visit to Hong Kong.
2.
No. 10 have said that they see no prospect that the Prime
Minister will pay an official visit to China for some considerable
time. It seems equally unlikely that he will be able to arrange
a visit to Hong Kong in the immediate future. In any case there
could be no question of anything other than a negative reply at
this stage.
3. I submit a draft advice accordingly, with a short background
note.
4. FED, P&CD and the Governor of Hong Kong have agreed.
