The revenue collected by this Division is also spent on the people's welfare, such as education and health.

B. This Division's organisation depends mainly on the availability of revenue and equipment. In 1969, our strength reached 7,000 odd. However, in 1970 when we were in the red for $10,000,000 odd, over 2,000 were retrenched. Our present strength is 4,567 (excluding administrative staff). Under the Commander's Office, there are five main companies of 4,000 officers and men.

The Commander's Office has the Chief of Staff section, administrative section, political section, the Aide-de-Camp section, the replenishment section, the martial law section, the police section and the Economic Commission with a total of 567 officers and men (excluding staff working in agencies).

Of the five main companies, two are stationed in the outposts of Kwo Kam; ( (果 ) one at Lai To Shan, ( £4)

宜 one acts as special escort for the shipment of opium and one, being mobile, assists in the administration and the maintenance of law and order in the districts. If any one company is in need of re- inforcement, the others will come to its rescue.
